Bio

I live in Manhattan, work as a journalist but more or less define myself as a creative person. I'm working my way toward being certified in poetry therapy and may even go back to school and get my MSW. I moved here last September from San Francisco, where I spent six and a half years of my life. Before that I spent five and a half years in the Phoenix area, getting a master's degree in creative writing/poetry. I've also been an indie-rock musician and stand-up comedienne, and enjoy most things artistic. I read voraciously, particularly contemporary fiction. I've been studying Buddhism lately, mostly for my own personal spiritual reasons (and sanity). I also love food and the outdoors, and engage in a lot of sportsy-type activities. I'm a weird combo of artsy-geek and outdoor fitness gal. And I cover the technology industry for my job, so I suppose somewhere buried inside there is a computer geek. I love to travel and am constantly seeking pleasure. Is that enough to put in here?
